V E R A D E G R O O T

The moment I fall backwards, I start to float. As if gravity is taking a pause.
And then I remember what Rania had said, the other day.
‘You don’t see me for who I really am.’
It comforts me to know that it’s never too late for that.
‘We don’t want her to catch a cold, do we?’ the nurse says.
‘You don’t understand’ Rania answers while opening the window again. ‘The wind is vital to
my mom. It helps you increase your resilience, she always says.’
