Oddly enough I was disappointed to see Persephone in the middle of all that junk.

‘I’m so glad I cleaned up this morning’ she said.

What worried me the most was that this ruin somehow felt familiar. Lolita was the only book in grandma’s house. Only grandma kept it above the sink, not on the ground. And the monitor lizard was a souvenir Uncle Ed had brought from his trip to Zanzibar.

‘Hades has squatted this house for me’ Persephone announced.

I nodded, as I noticed between the scattered papers my personal notebooks. ‘What is going on here?’ I exclaimed. Suddenly I realised I was standing in my grandmothers living room!

‘Hope you don’t mind that I’ve rearranged the house a bit’ Persephone answered.

The portrait of my grandparents was moved to the left. They seemed to look more concerned than before.

‘They want you to say farewell to grandpa Cor’ Persephone said.

‘What do you think I’ve been busy with?’I exclaimed while picking up my notebooks and waving them in front of her.

‘Then why is your play about a girl who is talking via the Ouija board with her late grandfather

who still happens to be present as a mummy?’

‘So what?’ I said. ‘We share many happy moments together.’

‘In a freak show where you assist your grandfather with his suicide?’ she answered.

‘Well, that’s what he wanted! Why else did he ask me to sleep over after his first attempt?’

She looked at me blankly.

‘Answer me!’ I yelled as I kicked her hard in her belly. Immediately her speakers protested with a shrill piercing tone. I hurried towards her, but she got away and ran upstairs.
